An Educational Video to Improve Genetic Testing Understanding and Uptake in Patients with Ovarian and MMRd Endometrial Cancer

Trial Status: active

This clinical trial tests how well an educational video works to improve genetic testing understanding and uptake in patients with ovarian and mismatch-repair deficient (MMRd) endometrial (uterine) cancers. Some female cancers may be genetic, meaning they are passed down from a parent through deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) (the genetic code or roadmap). In people with certain types of ovarian and uterine cancer, it may be helpful to test their DNA for any errors that can cause cancer. There are lots of important pieces of information to share when someone is diagnosed with cancer. A short educational video explaining what genetic testing is and why it is important may help patients better understand genetic testing for ovarian and MMRd endometrial cancer and may improve genetic testing uptake in this population.
