This clinical trial studies how well the Practical Geriatric Assessment (PGA) works in improving patient outcomes for older adults with stage II-III non-small cell lung cancer undergoing stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). National guidelines recommend that older adults with cancer undergo a special health assessment before starting cancer treatment. The PGA tool is a recently developed geriatric assessment measure recommended by national cancer and aging organizations that helps identify who might benefit from additional services by assessing their physical function, nutrition, social support, psychological well-being, medical conditions (both cancer-related and non-cancer-related), and cognitive function. Implementing the PGA may lead to better care and outcomes for older adults with stage II-III lung cancer. In addition, this trial evaluates whether artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms using facial photographs and audio-visual data from the PGA can identify vulnerable patients who might derive particular benefit from additional supportive care services.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
I. To evaluate associations between PGA implementation and rates of recommended supportive care service referral.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:
I. To characterize patient perspectives on the acceptability and degree of response burden associated with modified PGA completion, using the Response Burden Questionnaire (RBQ).
II. To correlate domains of PGA with other measures of frailty/advanced age, including artificial intelligence (AI)-based measures of biological including FaceAge, sit-to-stand test, and grip strength.
EXPLORATORY OBJECTIVE:
I. To evaluate whether digital capture of select domains of the PGA has additive utility in deep learning algorithms for vulnerability.
OUTLINE: Patients are randomized to 1 of 2 arms.
ARM I: Patients complete the PGA on study and their providers are made aware of the results, with weekly reminders sent to providers regarding these recommendations. Patients also undergo audio-visual recordings of PGA responses and digital photographs of their faces on study.
ARM II: Patients complete the PGA on study and their providers are not made aware of the results. Patients' providers assess for impairments and make referrals at their discretion. Patients also undergo audio-visual recordings of PGA responses and digital photographs of their faces on study.
