Telmisartan in Combination with Standard Chemotherapy for the Treatment of Platinum-Resistant or Refractory High Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer

Trial Status: active

This phase II trial studies how well telmisartan works in combination with standard of care (SOC) chemotherapy in treating patients with high grade serous ovarian cancer that progresses between 1 and 6 months of completing platinum-based treatment (platinum-resistant) or that progresses during platinum treatment or within 1 month of completing platinum treatment (platinum-refractory). Telmisartan may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Standard chemotherapy drugs, such as liposomal doxorubicin, paclitaxel, nab-paclitaxel, docetaxel, and mirvetuximab soravtansine work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving telmisartan in combination with SOC chemotherapy may be able to stabilize platinum-resistant or refractory high grade serous ovarian cancer.
