Helicobacter pylori Screening and Testing of People Living in South Florida
This clinical trial uses a Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) test (PYtest® 14C-Urea Capsule Breath Test) to screen for Helicobacter pylori infection in people living in South Florida. Helicobacter pylori is a bacteria that infects the lining of the stomach and can cause chronic gastritis, gastric cancer, and peptic ulcer disease. Not all persons with H. pylori infection are aware they have it, as healthcare providers do not routinely test for it, unless someone has symptoms of an infection. However, it is recommended that people with H. pylori infection undergo treatment with a multi-medication treatment regimen. This clinical trial screens individuals in South Florida for H. pylori infection, even if they don't have symptoms, to improve treatment and re-testing rates.
