  • Azacitidine with or without Nivolumab or Midostaurin, or Decitabine and Cytarabine Alone in Treating Older Patients with Newly Diagnosed Acute Myeloid Leukemia or High-Risk Myelodysplastic Syndrome

    This randomized phase II / III trial studies how well azacitidine with or without nivolumab or midostaurin, or decitabine and cytarabine alone work in treating older patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia or high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as azacitidine, decitabine, and cytarabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab, may help the body’s immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Midostaurin may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving azacitidine with or without nivolumab or midostaurin, or decitabine and cytarabine alone may kill more cancer cells.

  • Ipilimumab, Nivolumab, and Thoracic Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients with Extensive-Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer after Chemotherapy

    This phase I / II trial studies best dose of ipilimumab and nivolumab and how will they work when given together with thoracic radiation therapy in treating patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer after chemotherapy. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as and ipilimumab and nivolumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Giving ipilimumab, nivolumab, and radiation therapy may work better in treating patients with small cell lung cancer.

  • Talimogene Laherparepvec and Nivolumab in Treating Patients with Refractory Lymphomas or Advanced or Refractory Non-melanoma Skin Cancers

    This phase II trial studies how well talimogene laherparepvec works and nivolumab in treating patients with lymphomas that do not responded to treatment or non-melanoma skin cancers that have spread to other places in the body or do not responded to treatment. Biological therapies, such as talimogene laherparepvec, use substances made from living organisms that may stimulate or suppress the immune system in different ways and stop tumor cells from growing. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab, may help the body’s immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving talimogene laherparepvec and nivolumab may work better in treating patients with lymphomas or non-melanoma skin cancers.

  • Nivolumab and Ipilimumab in Treating Patients with HIV Associated Relapsed or Refractory Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma or Solid Tumors That Are Metastatic or Cannot Be Removed by Surgery

    This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of nivolumab when given with ipilimumab in treating patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) associated classical Hodgkin lymphoma that has returned after a period of improvement or does not respond to treatment, or solid tumors that have spread to other places in the body or cannot be removed by surgery. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as ipilimumab and nivolumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Ipilimumab is an antibody that acts against a molecule called cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA-4). CTLA-4 controls a part of your immune system by shutting it down. Nivolumab is a type of antibody that is specific for human programmed cell death 1 (PD-1), a protein that is responsible for destruction of immune cells. Giving ipilimumab with nivolumab may work better in treating patients with HIV associated classical Hodgkin lymphoma or solid tumors compared to ipilimumab with nivolumab alone.

  • Nivolumab and Cabozantinib in Treating Patients with Metastatic Triple-Negative Breast Cancer

    This phase II trial studies how well nivolumab and cabozantinib work in treating patients with triple negative breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab, may help the body’s immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Cabozantinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving nivolumab and cabozantinib may work better in treating patients with triple negative breast cancer.

  • Image Guided Hypofractionated Radiation Therapy, Nelfinavir Mesylate, Pembrolizumab, Nivolumab and Atezolizumab in Treating Patients with Advanced Melanoma, Lung, or Kidney Cancer

    This phase II trial studies how well image guided hypofractionated radiation therapy works with nelfinavir mesylate, pembrolizumab, nivolumab, and atezolizumab in treating patients with melanoma, lung cancer, or kidney cancer that has spread. Hypofractionated radiation therapy delivers higher doses of radiation therapy over a shorter period of time and may kill more tumor cells and have fewer side effects. Nelfinavir mesylate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, nivolumab and atezolizumab, may help the body’s immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving hypofractionated radiation therapy, nelfinavir mesylate, pembrolizumab, nivolumab and atezolizumab may work better in treating patients with melanoma, lung, or kidney cancer.
