Nancy Siebert Murphy is the Communications Director for the National Cancer Institute.
She serves as a senior advisor to the NCI Director and is a member of the Institute’s Scientific Program Leadership team.
Ms. Siebert Murphy provides strategic counsel on media engagement and issues management to advance the Institute’s cancer research priorities and to ensure transparency, accuracy, and public trust in federally-sponsored cancer research.
Prior to her current role, she served as Associate Director for Planning and Coordination in NCI’s Office of Communications and Public Liaison, where she guided strategic planning and cross-Institute coordination of communications initiatives.
Before joining NCI in 2013, she owned and operated a public relations firm whose clients included several agencies and institutes of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Ms. Siebert Murphy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
