President's Cancer Panel

The President's Cancer Panel (the Panel) monitors the activities of the National Cancer Program and reports to the President of the United States on barriers to progress in reducing the burden of cancer. The Panel accomplishes its mission by:

  1. Identifying high-priority topics relevant to the needs of the country and the cancer community.
  2. Convening meetings with key experts and stakeholders to develop an understanding of the challenges and potential solutions related to the selected topic.
  3. Submitting a report to the President of the United States with recommendations for actions that should be taken by relevant organizations to improve the National Cancer Program.

The Panel’s reports and recommendations have covered topics including cancer screening, technology in cancer care, drug value, and patient navigation. These reports have been widely used by National Cancer Program stakeholders, both public and private, to highlight barriers and drive change based on the Panel’s recommendations. Visit the Panel’s website to learn more about their reports.
