Ad hoc Working Group on Streamlining Clinical Trials

Mission Statement

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Clinical Trials and Translational Research Advisory Committee (CTAC) will convene an ad hoc Working Group to address the implementation of the CTAC Strategic Planning Working Group's recommendations around streamlining NCI's clinical trials. The Working Group will advise NCI on ways to limit data collection in clinical trials as well as optimize the utilization of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to support clinical trials.

Working Group membership will include select CTAC members with relevant expertise.

The Working Group will advise the CTAC and the NCI Director.

Ad hoc Working Group on Gastric and Esophageal Cancer

Mission Statement

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Clinical Trials and Translational Research Advisory Committee (CTAC) ad hoc Translational Research Strategy Subcommittee (TRSS) will convene an ad hoc Working Group on gastric and esophageal cancer to survey the scientific horizons broadly to:

  • Identify translational research knowledge gaps related to gastric and esophageal cancer;
  • Help identify the most provocative and impactful translational research questions to advance the diagnosis and treatment of gastric and esophageal cancer;
  • Examine and identify the most important opportunities for application of new technologies to gastric and esophageal cancer translational research.

Working Group membership will include select CTAC, National Cancer Advisory Board (NCAB), and NCI Board of Scientific Advisors (BSA) members, as well as individuals with expertise in clinical and basic research, patient care, advocacy, and other expertise in gastric and esophageal cancer.

The Working Group will advise the TRSS, CTAC, NCAB, BSA, and the NCI Director.

Ad hoc Strategic Planning Working Group

Mission Statement

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Clinical Trials and Translational Research Advisory Committee (CTAC) will convene an ad hoc Working Group to re-assess NCI's strategic vision for its clinical trials system for 2030 and beyond. The Working Group will review and address the capabilities of the clinical trials infrastructure necessary for achieving this vision as well as consider recommendations for relevant future CTAC activities.

Working Group membership will include CTAC members, as well as individuals from the scientific community with the appropriate expertise.

The Working Group will advise the Clinical Trials and Translational Research Advisory Committee and the NCI Director.
