Do you want to understand metabolomic epidemiology and how to use it to study human health and disease? Register for this upcoming virtual workshop, “Metabolomic epidemiology on a global scale: accelerating discovery and enhancing rigor and reproducibility of single cohort and meta-analyses.”

In this workshop, you will learn about the COMETS Studies and how to perform single cohort and meta-analysis investigations using COMETS Analytics, a data harmonization tool. COMETS Analytics is available through GitHub as an R package and through a web-based tool.

The agenda for the workshop is as follows:

Session 1 | Introduction to COMETS and COMETS Analytics Tutorial
10:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. ET

Presenters will introduce you to COMETS. They’ll provide a tutorial on how to use COMETS Analytics, and you’ll have the chance to explore the software yourself.

Session 2 | Latest Developments in Prospective Analyses of Metabolomic Epidemiology Studies
1:30 p.m.–3:00 p.m. ET

Speakers will discuss the latest developments in prospective analyses of metabolomic epidemiology studies, followed by a panel discussion on how to improve efficiency and reproducibility in metabolomic epidemiology through COMETS. Topics will include:

  • the standardization of metabolite names and covariables.
  • ease of data sharing.
  • bottlenecks when implementing meta-analyses.
  • the facilitation of large, complex collaborations.
