*The purpose of the Cancer Research Data Exchange Summit was to advance USCDI+ Cancer goals of defining real-world data elements to improve cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, research, and care through advanced data exchange. As NCI Director, Dr. Kimryn Rathmell, recently said, “There’s so much opportunity with data, and there’s so many things that we could do better, faster, and more powerfully if we utilize data as to the best of its capability.” Read the GovCIO blog post for more insight from Dr. Rathmell and her peers that attended the May summit.
