Get Funding by Predicting Cancer Risks and Related Outcomes with Existing Data

If you have an idea of how to use existing data sets, secondary data analysis, and/or database resources to improve cancer risk prediction, apply to get it funded!

Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs): “Secondary Analysis and Integration of Existing Data to Elucidate Cancer Risk and Related Outcomes”

When should I submit my application?

Grant2023 Upcoming Submission Cycle
R01 Research Project
  • Open: September 5, 2023
  • Close: October 5, 2023
R21 Exploratory/Development Research
  • Open: September 16, 2023
  • Close: October 16, 2023

If you’d like more time or would like to renew your application for either of these NOFOs, both include recurring due dates until 2026.

What should my application include?

Your primary goal is to use existing data to highlight cancer risk and related outcomes. Additionally, your application should touch on how to plan to:

  • leverage the large volume of data publicly available to the scientific community.
  • analyze longitudinal, multi-level/domain data types.
  • use innovative approaches and integration of existing data sets.
  • conduct innovative secondary data analyses to address knowledge gaps in cancer control.

The primary analyzed data can be derived/redefined from existing data but should be kept from participants and newly generated from existing biological specimens.
