2024 Informatics Technology for Cancer Research (ITCR) Funding Opportunities Announced

You can read about and apply for the NCI Informatics Technology for Cancer Research program’s 2024 funding opportunities. Letters of intent are due 30 days before the application due dates, which are June 11 and November 24, 2024.

All funding opportunities are for cancer research. Categories include:

  • algorithm development. Check out this option out if you’re developing innovative methods and algorithms in biomedical computing, informatics, and data science.
  • prototyping and hardening. This may be the right option for you if you’re working to enable informatics technologies that will improve acquisition, management, analysis, and the dissemination of data and knowledge.
  • enhancement and dissemination. Similar to prototyping and hardening, this option is for applicants at the advanced development and enhancement stage of informatics technologies.
  • sustainment. This option would help support your continued development and sustainment of already existing, high-value, informatics research resources.

Each category has a unique budget and funding period. If you're working on a project to create or improve machine learning models, you must include a plan and timeline for sharing the model, including where you will store the model, along with detailed model annotations.
