NCI Funding Opportunity for Researchers Leveraging Social Network Data to Promote Cancer Prevention and Healthy Lifestyles

Want to apply your data collection technology to social networks? NCI is interested in leveraging social network data to develop interventions to promote cancer prevention across the lifespan, especially in middle-aged and older populations.

This funding opportunity, which is an NIH Planning Grant Program (R34), is intended for investigators who need support for:

  • building and training a multidisciplinary team,
  • identifying an approach for changing health behaviors using social networks,
  • developing a protocol,
  • piloting and testing systems for data collection and/or management,
  • testing feasibility and acceptability of the approach, and
  • establishing procedures for documenting results.

NCI will begin accepting applications on October 3, 2023. NCI encourages early applications, as this added time will allow you to correct any errors before the November 3 deadline.
