Give Your Input on the Updated NIH Strategic Plan for Data Science

NIH needs feedback on the updated NIH Strategic Plan for Data Science, 2023–2028. If you’re a member of the scientific or patient community, a professional society, an academic institution, an advocacy group, the private sector, or a health professional, submit your comments on the NIH Office of Data Science Strategy website! Comments are due no later than Friday, March 15, 2024.

The updated plan:

  • prepares NIH for new technologies and addresses the increase in the quality and diversity of data.
  • supports the NIH Policy for Data Management and Sharing.
  • embraces data-driven discovery.
  • fosters ethical use of new methodologies related to artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Now that you know some of the highlights on the updated plan, give your input on:

  • the appropriateness of the plan goals, strategies, and implementation tactics.
  • opportunities for partnerships with NIH to achieve the plan goals.
  • tools that support cancer research through data science.
  • emerging research needs and opportunities that you think are missing from the plan.
  • additional topics you feel are relevant for NIH to consider.
