NCI Podcast Gives Inside Look at Data Scientist Fellowship Program

If you want to learn more about a fellowship focused on data science for cancer care and research, listen to a recent episode of NCI’s Inside Cancer Careers podcast, which features the Big Data Scientist Training Enhancement Program (BD-STEP)!

In the podcast, Drs. Michelle Berny-Lang, Frank Meng, and Ted Feldman discuss:

  • the program’s goals, structure, and benefits.
  • the importance of artificial intelligence in healthcare data science.
  • advice you can use if you want to pursue a career in data science.

BD-STEP is a collaboration between NCI and the Veterans Health Administration (VA). Through this two-year fellowship, you gain access to VA health data resources and NCI cancer research expertise to expand your data science training. This is a great opportunity to hear from BD-STEP program leaders, as well as those who have participated in the program.
