US-Republic of Korea Cooperation in Biomedical Research

Representatives from US NCI and Republic of Korea stand in front of respective flags after signing of Memorandum of Understanding event

NCI was delighted to host the Korean Delegation visiting the NIH main campus and Clinical Center on April 26, 2023. The delegation included leadership from the Korean Ministry of Health, National Cancer Center Korea (NCC-K), and Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) to discuss current and future cancer research cooperation between the US NCI and NCC Korea. The visit concluded with the official signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the NCI and the NCC Korea, the first in-person MOU signing ceremony hosted at NCI since 2019. The MOU is focused on collaborative research in line with the Cancer Moonshot commitment to accelerate scientific discovery in cancer, foster greater collaboration, improve the sharing of cancer data, and establish a joint steering committee in 2023.
