Government Funding Lapse
Because of a lapse in government funding, the information on this website may not be up to date, transactions submitted via the website may not be processed, and the agency may not be able to respond to inquiries until appropriations are enacted.

The NIH Clinical Center (the research hospital of NIH) is open. For more details about its operating status, please visit cc.nih.gov.

Updates regarding government operating status and resumption of normal operations can be found at opm.gov.

Funding Strategy

Beginning in FY26 (October 1, 2025), the NIH will no longer post notices of funding opportunities (NOFOs) in the NIH Guide. Instead, grants.gov will serve as the NIH’s single official source for grant and cooperative agreement funding opportunities. For more information, see NOT-OD-25-143.

NCI supports the best scientists and research projects through a rigorous grant application and peer review process.

Funding Determinations

NCI understands that researchers applying for grants want to know about their chances of receiving funding for their grant applications. Therefore, every fiscal year, NCI makes its funding strategy information publicly available. For more information about how NCI makes funding decisions, see NCI Peer Review and Funding Outcomes.
