NCI supports the best scientists and research projects through a rigorous grant application and peer review process.
All notices of funding opportunities (NOFOs) are posted by the NIH on grants.gov, the single, official source for grant and cooperative agreement funding opportunities.

Funding Decisions
NCI understands that researchers are eager to know whether their grant applications are likely to receive funding. NCI follows the NIH Unified Funding Strategy (UFS). NCI Director Dr. Anthony Letai joined several other Institute and Center Directors in authoring a blog post outlining Perspectives on Implementing the NIH Unified Funding Strategy.

NCI Budget and Appropriations
To achieve its research goals, NCI awards funding to support investigator-initiated research, conduct clinical trials, and fund initiatives that address health care disparities. Learn more about how the NCI budget funds cancer research.
