The Center for Global Health (CGH) is hiring a program director focused on implementation science and global cancer control. CGH supports multiple initiatives to accelerate the implementation of evidence-based cancer control and prevention interventions in low- and middle-income countries. These initiatives are grounded in bi-directional learning, mutual capacity building, and exploration of new models of implementation research which are closely embedded in the implementation practice space.

On December 4-5, NCI hosted a team of ten Kenyan cancer care experts and a Member of Parliament as part of a unique cancer care-focused International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) visit. This visit is jointly sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya.

NCI's Center for Global Health (CGH) has launched a survey to better understand the landscape of cancer therapeutic clinical trials in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). CGH is seeking clinicians with experience participating as a member of a research team in at least one cancer therapeutic clinical trial with a recruitment site or facility in a LMIC (as defined by the World Bank) to better understand the landscape of cancer, to the take survey.

The new report, Women, power, and cancer: A Lancet Commission, brings together a multidisciplinary and diverse team from around the globe, including scholars with expertise in gender studies, human rights, law, economics, social sciences, cancer epidemiology, prevention, and treatment, as well as patient advocates, to analyze how women around the world experience cancer, and to provide recommendations to policy makers, governments, civil society, and health and social care systems. The report presents key findings and proposes a set of recommendations to inspire real-world action for transformational change.

On August 29th, 2023, the United States National Cancer Institute and the Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social of Costa Rica renewed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to reaffirm the 30-year bilateral collaboration and commitment to cervical cancer prevention research. President Rodrigo Chaves Robles of Costa Rica attended the signing ceremony.

NCI hosted the Korean Delegation visit which included leadership from the Korean Ministry of Health, National Cancer Center Korea, and Korea Health Industry Development Institute to discuss current and future cancer research cooperation between NCI and NCC Korea.
