The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is leading several scientific sessions at the 2023 African Organization for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC) Conference to be held in Dakar, Senegal, on November 2-6, 2023. The conference themed, “Cancer in Africa: Implementation, Workforce, Opportunities,” will bring together clinicians, researchers, implementers, and advocates from the African continent, the US, and across the world to address key issues around cancer control in Africa. 

NCI will participate in sessions on topical areas including, but not limited to, implementation science, tobacco control, cancer health disparities, HIV-associated malignancies, hepatobiliary cancers, and esophageal cancer. The session speakers will include NCI-supported and non-supported researchers, NCI staff, and oncology leaders from around the world. The conference Keynotes will include opening remarks by Satish Gopal, M.D., M.P.H., Director, Center for Global Health, NCI.
