Scaling What Works: Advancing Implementation Science for Global Cancer Prevention and Control
November 24, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Virtual
This session, led by the U.S. National Cancer Institute, will explore the vital role of implementation science in accelerating progress in global cancer prevention and control. As cancer continues to disproportionately affect low-resource communities in the U.S. and around the world, there is an urgent need not only for effective interventions but also for practical strategies to scale and sustain them.
This session will spotlight how implementation science can bridge the gap between research and real-world practice by integrating participatory methods, adapting to diverse local contexts, and fostering meaningful partnerships between researchers, policymakers, and community stakeholders. Through examples of global collaborations, the session will demonstrate how shared learning and context-sensitive strategies can strengthen health systems and combat the growing burden of cancer. This discussion will emphasize pragmatic, scalable approaches that promote the adoption of evidence-based interventions, thereby supporting long-term, sustainable cancer prevention efforts in the U.S. and globally.
This session is organized as part of London Global Cancer Week (LGCW) 2025. Learn more about LGCW and view their full schedule of events on the LGCW website.
