NCI's Ms. Linsey Eldridge, Center for Global Health,  and Dr. David Berrigan, Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences, presented their poster, "Structural Racism and Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Among Black and White Women in the United States" virtually at the Society for Prevention Research (SPR) annual meeting on June 3rd.  Registered meeting participants were able to interact with the authors beginning at 5:45 pm ET.

Although overall incidence of breast cancer is lower among Black women than White women, Black women have a disparately higher mortality rate from the disease. Black women are more likely to be diagnosed with the more aggressive subtype, triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). This study seeks to determine the associations between state-level indicators of structural racism and incidence of TNBC among Black and White women diagnosed with breast cancer.
