The Youth Enjoy Science (YES) Research Education Program supports efforts to encourage individuals who have not had substantial biomedical research experience, or who have the potential to significantly benefit from additional biomedical research experience to pursue further studies or careers in research. To accomplish the stated over-arching goal, the program supports education activities comprised of three components: Research Experiences, Curriculum or Methods Development, and Outreach.
This program provides support for institutions to develop and maintain innovative early intervention strategies to attract and engage students and their teachers in active cancer research environments, and to help prepare students for a career in biomedical research. Program will support efforts to create and maintain an institutional program to engage grades 6-12 and/or undergraduate students.
Join our pre-application webinar on July 16, 2026 at 2:00 PM ET to learn about YES directly from NIH program officials. Register by Friday, July 10 to attend the webinar.
