The National Institutes of Health in partnership with the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) hosted a satellite session for the 12th Annual CUGH Virtual Conference titled Strategies to Address Global Health Inequities. NCI Center for Global Health's Dr. Vidya Vedham co-moderated the Q&A session with Dr. Monica Webb Hooper, Deputy Director of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD).

Health equity is the pursuit and attainment of the highest level of health for all people. This session will identify the role of public health research and research capacity building in global health equity in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and highlight key NIH research priorities and investments to address global and U.S. health disparities. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the interrelation of U.S.-based and global health disparities research and the importance of developing impactful, sustainable, and ethical programs that address the needs of the communities to achieve global health equity.
