Dr. Cindy Kyi manages a grant portfolio focusing on molecular technology development for cancer research in the areas of protein biochemistry and cellular imaging.

She also has an interest in understanding the effects of environmental carcinogen exposure and molecular boundaries of cell plasticity in cancer.

Research Programs

Dr. Kyi is also involved in DCB and trans-NCI Programs:

Background

Prior to her work as a DCB program director, Dr. Kyi managed cancer genomic data analysis projects for Genomic Data Analysis Network (GDAN) and HCMI in the NCI Center for Cancer Genomics. She initially came to NCI in 2018 as a Science Communications Fellow. Before working at NCI, Dr. Kyi received a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, with an emphasis on neurophysiology, and studied the effects of loss of autonomic neural input on downstream synaptic plasticity.
