On July 14 and 15, 2021, DCB hosted the Diet as a Modifier of Tumor Metabolism Workshop. Matt Vander Heiden, who is the Director of Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT, chaired this meeting and gave the opening presentation, outlining the status of the science on diet and cancer metabolism, across different biological levels, including the individual cell, the local tumor, and whole-body.

In addition to presenting recent findings, the speakers of the workshop participated in a rich panel discussion focusing on current challenges and opportunities in the field. The need for additional mechanistic studies connecting diet and cancer metabolism was particularly emphasized.
