The Think Tank on Advancing Gastric Cancer Prevention aims to provide an interactive forum for a multidisciplinary group of experts to review the current research and resources for gastric cancer prevention. This forum will feature "lightning talks" and small group discussions to address challenges in the field and identify areas for future national and international research in gastric cancer prevention and control.

NIH Sex and Gender Differences in Cancer - Basic Science: Immunology
The NIH Sex and Gender Differences in Cancer Virtual Workshop Series will feature four 3-hour virtual sessions on different aspects of this topic between February and June 2024. This series of virtual workshops will bring together those that are interested in sex and gender differences in cancer in the areas of basic biology, genomics, epigenetics, immunology, clinical/translational science, as well as population science, to not only learn about the latest research findings but to also identify gaps in our knowledge, identify potential collaborative opportunities, and learn best practices for methodology and reporting.

White House Forum on Advancing Cervical Cancer Prevention, Early Detection, and Survival
On Thursday, January 25, the Biden Cancer Moonshot will host a forum marking Cervical Cancer Awareness Month and highlighting the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to and progress on improving education, prevention, HPV vaccination, early detection, and treatment. Leaders from across government, research, healthcare, patient advocacy, and other sectors will come together to discuss the greatest challenges domestically and globally, share progress on work being done, and generate new actions and collaborations.

Embracing the Complexity: Transdisciplinary Approaches to Advance the Science of Cancer Health Disparities
In these in-depth virtual Ideation minilabs, which span four hours each, participants will collaborate and refine research themes that have emerged from the Visioning stage. The focus here is on creating strong and impactful themes and opportunities that can serve as the foundation for pioneering research in the field of CHD. These workshops are dynamic, engaging, and foster cross-discipline discussions. They provide a unique platform for diverse individuals to come together and collectively ideate innovative solutions that cut across traditional boundaries. Additionally, participants will contribute to the creation of white papers summarizing the identified themes and opportunities. Registration closes November 8th.

Rapid & Adaptive Embedded IS Approach in Resource-Constrained Settings - D & I 2023 Annual Conference
CGH staff, Drs. Fatou Jallow, Margarita Correa-Mendez, and Julia Gage will join Dr. Peter Hovmand and Andrea Matos to present at the16th Annual Conference on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation in Health, co-hosted by the National Institutes of Health and AcademyHealth. Their panel presentation will discuss the results from an embedded implementation research (IR) engagement supporting scale-up of HPV-based cervical cancer control in Peru.

The conference will bring together researchers, technology developers, clinicians, and industry partners from all NIBIB Point of Care Technology Network (POCTRN) centers, regulatory administrators, non-government organization (NGO) leaders, and investors network to discuss complementary expertise and resources to accelerate point-of-care and home-based diagnostic technology innovation, validation, and commercialization.

Contributions of Community Health Workers and Patient Navigators in the Cancer Continuum and Research in LMICs: Practical Examples, and Opportunities for Engagement @ London Global Cancer Week
This session will explore the impact of community health workers (CHWs) and patient navigators (PNs) in the cancer care continuum, advocating for their recognition in bridging the gap between cancer research and practice, strategies for integrating CHWs and PNs into cancer care and research, and practical steps for policy and implementation. It will include a panel discussion featuring experienced practitioners, researchers, and CHWs and PNs from diverse global settings and a interactive audience engagement activities like Q&A sessions and live polling. This session is hosted in collaboration with London Global Cancer Week (LGCW) 2023.
