Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage

(MEH-dih-kayr preh-SKRIP-shun … KUH-ver-ij)
A type of insurance that helps people with Medicare pay for prescription drugs. People with Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage have to pay an additional premium and part of their prescription drug costs, including deductibles and copayments. Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage is offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. It is a type of supplemental health insurance. Also called Medicare Part D.
