DCB at AACR 2026

Learn about NCI’s resources, programs, and funding opportunities available by joining us at the AACR Annual Meeting 2023 in Orlando.

NCI Division of Cancer Biology (DCB) staff gave presentations and interacted with cancer biology researchers at the 2026 AACR Annual Meeting, which had a theme of "Precision, Partnership, and Purpose: Advancing Cancer Science to Save Lives Globally."

NCI/NIH Consortia Initiative: Metabolic Dysregulation and Cancer Risk Program—A Transdisciplinary Approach to Obesity-Associated Cancers (NIH07)
This session provided an overview of the Metabolic Dysregulation and Cancer Risk Program (MeDOC) consortium, including the scientific investigations, collaborative efforts, and resources available through the program.

NCI Funding of Extramural Cancer Biology Research (NIH10)
This session provided an opportunity for early-stage and established investigators to interact directly with NCI staff, including the DCB Director Dr. Dan Gallahan. Topics included the NCI grants system, communicating with a program director, considerations for a successful grant application, as well as funding opportunities and highlighted topics related to cancer biology.

Drs. Sean Hanlon & Sharmistha Ghosh-Janjigian (DCB Program Directors) and Dr. Indu Kohaar (an NCI Division of Cancer Prevention Program Director) shared HTAN data and resources that are available to the community.
