intravenous chemotherapy

(IN-truh-VEE-nus KEE-moh-THAYR-uh-pee)
Treatment in which anticancer drugs are given through a needle or tube inserted into a vein. The anticancer drugs travel through the blood to kill cancer cells in the body.
