Medicare Part D

A type of insurance that helps people with Medicare pay for prescription drugs. People with Medicare Part D have to pay an additional premium and part of their prescription drug costs, including deductibles and copayments. Medicare Part D is offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. It is a type of supplemental health insurance. Also called Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage.
