Clinical Imaging Steering Committee

The Clinical Imaging Steering Committee (CISC) was established in 2010. The committee meets quarterly to evaluate and prioritize large phase 2 and phase 3 trials for which the primary hypothesis is imaging-based. In addition, CISC members provide valuable imaging expertise for other steering committees' evaluations of therapeutic concepts and discussions that include an imaging component. The CISC serves as a forum for the extramural imaging and oncology communities to provide strategic input to the NCI regarding its significant investment in imaging activities in clinical trials. View the CISC member roster. The committee may periodically hold clinical trials planning meetings (CTPMs) to focus on specific clinical trial related topics.

Committee Highlights

The following are highlights from recent committee activities:

  • Improving Brain Tumor Characterization with Advanced Neuroimaging Methods
In April 2018, the CISC held a CTPM to discuss the development of brain tumor imaging techniques and how to integrate them into clinical trials. Read the executive summary.
